Walker says Supreme Court wasn't referendum on him / results not a bad sign for recalls

Walker says Supreme Court wasn't referendum on him

MADISON, Wis. (AP) Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says the state Supreme Court race was not a referendum on him.

Walker said Wednesday the election that was too close to call was a choice about two different candidates with different backgrounds. Based on unofficial results previously unknown JoAnne Kloppenburg led incumbent David Prosser by a razor thin 206 votes.

Kloppenburg supporters tried to tie Prosser to Walker throughout the campaign against Prosser, who is a former Republican speaker of the Assembly.

Walker says for those who believe the election was a referendum, the votes against Prosser were largely focused in the Madison and Milwaukee areas. He says he's not worried that the election results are a bad sign for Republican state senators up for recalls.

Because it would be unseemly for a governor to make public pronouncements when he was that high.

18. Well, ya' know
the cities tend to have lot's of "darker" skinned people in them. They don't matter to Republicans, because that's not "real 'Murika"

"Real 'Murika" is pasty white, loves country music and makes out with their cousins....Opposite sex cousins, of course"

23. Kloppenburg support solid in rural areas
Please don't buy Scott's logic that Milwaukee and Dane county won the election for Kloppenburg. She was solid in many rural areas and mid sized cities...in fact you could make a better argument that Prosser's support was confined to the Fox Valley and Suburban Milwaukee--in fact take away three of those counties (Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington) and Kloppenburg wins by a 100,000 votes. Take a look at the county by county map... lots of rural counties in the SW, Central, West and NW went very solid for Joanne.
