1. I don't know enough about her to judge.
But I have seen enough dissension about her to wonder...

I do NOT like the fact that she's down on Progressive Dems. That's not a direction I want to see us take.

2. She has a lot going for her
She is pretty, well spoken, progressive, and maybe even a future presidential contender! Yea, I like her.

5. Doesn't that depend on what you want?
If you want someone who came frame their way out of a paper bag, she's a great choice.

If you want a liberal Democrat (or even a "centrist" that doesn't actively tank liberal Democrats), she's not a great choice.

8. Bingo
I don't dislike her but I certainly wouldn't call her progressive. And she's definitely not my first choice.

23. She's a Florida democrat.
It's not who I'd choose to lead a liberal party, but if this is the way the national dem party wants to go then choosing her makes sense. She's certainly a better choice than Kaine was, that's for sure.

These choices just show me that the party wishes to continue to move to the middle.

27. Right.
Perhaps the greatest frustration I have with certain politicians is best illustrated by her: she is intelligent and capable of being a powerful advocate of traditional democratic values. But she is not invested in doing so.

+Likely much more effective than Kaine. +Not friendly to liberal Democrats and ideas.

I'm neutral--leaning to "yuck," though.

12. Well since the main goal of the Democratic party....
..seems to be to maintain as much distance from what was once their liberal base then she's a very good choice.

If you're someone who actually regards themselves as part of that liberal base.....maybe not so much.

But....she has shown she can punch some hippies so she passed the main litmus test for any leadership position within the Democratic party.

14. Just what we need. A CHAIR that refused to back DEMOCRATS in Florida...
as co-chair of the DCCC "Red to Blue" campaign, she wouldn't
even back DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES, choosing to not go up against
her Batista-connected "friends".

snip> Remember U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz? Yes, the same Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who last year refused to back very viable democrats running against the Diaz-Balart brothers and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. The House (of Reps) lady who has been given much power by Speaker Nancy Pelosi… and who has received tens of thousands of dollars from the U.S. Cuba Democracy PAC to distribute to members of Congress in order to “buy” their votes on Cuba.

FAB.

:puke:

How soon people forget.

20. DWS and the CANF
Edited on Tue Apr-05-11 07:24 PM by rabs

Some of us remember because we detest the ditzy-balarts and la loba Ileana ...

Pointed out DWS' connections to the hard-line Miami Cubans and her criticism of Obama on his Cuba policy on another thread that is a DWS love fest. My post was zapped. :eyes:

29. The national Democrats treat Florida as a BushCo fiefdom.
They exact a little tribute in exchange for never seriously challenging it.

Just proves that the national party has resigned itself to continue to live in the middle and ditch the liberals.

31. Her last accomplishment was getting Republicans elected in Florida.
So if getting Republicans elected is what you want,
then DWS is a GREAT choice for the DNC.
