"Obama is not my kind of Dem" rhetoric has really picked up a notch.
I suppose it was inevitable given his announcement to run for re-election.

I watched the History Channel last night about the facts and situations that led up to the Civil War. I was particularly interested in the written records of statements by peers of the era regarding their personal opinions of early founders and Lincoln. Opinions pro and con. I found it very interesting to hear the statements made by anti-Lincoln'ites and how closely they match the sentiments and words used against Obama, even here on DU.

So here's the rub, it's not that I internalized any of that anti-Obama DU rhetoric in the past. But it was disheartening to read all the negativity that abounded and the justification of pressing that negativity on others while not wanting to hear or read the other side. No positive Obama statements appeared to be tolerated without a boat load of shit coming down on the poster for supporting Obama. So in the future, I shan't even spend my time reading the crap being spewed just for the sake of spewing. No more will I let the hand full of debbie downers "harsh my mellow".

I'm in a great mood, Obama announced, I'm positive, and happy and hopeful, and will keep it up until election day...when he wins.

10. Well, a Claim was Made and People Will Reply to That Point
Nothing has upped a notch, just those pointing out that many here are not pleased with Obama because he is running for re-election. I'm sure the mods will be clamping down on those here who want him primaried.

12. I fully expected .
.... Obama to run. I'm just pointing out the clear and obvious fact that a president that essentially adopts 90% of his Republican predecessor's policies, among the worst example of Republicanism I might add, can hardly be considered a Democrat.

And I'm not voting for anyone that is only 10% less evil than Bush.

14. oh, I'm in a Agreement with you.. I'm just replying to the other poster
I think your post was being misinterpreted is all. I'm voting for a real progressive or liberal, but I will not vote for a so-called moderate because moderate today means Wall Street friendly, and I think the US has had enough of that. The only way Washing DC is going to change its attitude towards voters is if we say, "No more".

8. Yes....
he is a DINO because congress had to water down legislation because of the 24/7 fillubuster, DINOs in congress, repubs doing everything they could to make him fail, etc....it's always Obama's fault....Obama gets blamed for a broken congress....what utter bullshit!

Plus, NO DINO WOULD DO ANY OF THIS ---------> www.whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com

15. Are you happy there are still Combat Troops in Iraq
Are you happy the Bush* Tax Cuts for the very wealthy were extended? Are you happy Gitmo is still open and functioning in the very same manner as under Bush*? Are you happy Obama could not seem to locate his comfortable shoes when collective Bargaining rights were being threatened? Are you happy that Drones are killing people daily in Pakistan? Are you happy that common criminals are being treated as some incredibly dangerous War Combatants and tried under military tribunals? Are you happy that teachers have all but been totally abandoned by this Administration? Are you happy that Habeas Corpus has yet to be restored when it is the heart and soul of our US Constitution? Are you happy with the Patriot Act and Warrantless searches? The list is actually quite long and I could go on for some time, but..... the point has been made I think

5. Obama
I think his continuation of Bush's extra-Constitutional treatment of certain American citizens is just peachy.

I wasn't using the Constitutional Rights Bush took away from all American citizens anyway. It's fine with me to give them to Obama because he thinks he needs them.

I just had this fantasy that a Professor of Constitutional Law would actually respect the Constitution! I am so old fashioned.

7. What - the corporate sellout type? That's pretty much everyone elected to an office
And I didn't think there was any different type

Sure there's Dennis Kucinich and there was Paul Wellstone, but they're the anomaly.

I may have to adopt the "Nope. I'm right, you're wrong" attitude and just leave it at that for awhile. I tend to avoid pessimissm, anyway.

It's an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day, dontcha think? It's about 75 and sunny here with those whispy, feathery clouds giving the electric blue sky of AZ a softer touch.

your still drinking the kool-aide.

I'll be voting for him because there is no where else to go, period. I have no hope, I've seen no change that I can believe in and it's not a great day for many of us Democrats.

The best I can say is he is not SaraCudda. For that I am thankful.

it will take more than 4 years to get us out. I think President Obama has done as much as can be expected given the political climate. He can't please everyone. I think he's pleased a lot people, me included.

35. Some of it is sincere and some of it is Freeper infiltrators
But I don't find any of it very constructive. Seriously WTF is the point of "Waaah I want Dennis Kucinich for President" type threads. We couldn't get a real liberal elected in this country at the present time, I would think most people would be hip to that. Criticism of the President's policies are fine but IMO constant Obama bashers are trolls and most of them are pretty obvious about it.
