Now that President Obama has Declared his Candidacy
the anti-Obama rhetoric is already heating up on DU. I guess I should have expected it, but it's awfully early, it seems to me.

Looks like it's going to be a tough year and more than a half. I'm probably going to have to finally start using DU's ignore feature soon if I'm to retain my sanity.

Obama 2012! That's my comment regarding the whole thing. Obama 2012! and elect as many Democrats to as many legislative seats as possible, both federal and state. The alternative is unthinkable.

Uff da!

2. I have never yet "ignored" one single person on DU.
I almost can't believe it myself.

3. I have two people on my ignore list. One I can't even remember
why. The other is a courtesy.

I think that's about to change, though.

8. Me either.
I've had a couple people tell me "welcome to my ignore list" ... as if they thought that I would give a shit about them not wanting to be my friend.

But no, I have not put anyone on ignore, not even a deranged individual who hoped for me to die in a painful manner. I responded by laughing at the nut for even thinking that their desire for me to die would upset me. I found it hilarious.

The mods deleted that persons attack, but I thought they should have left it up. Some times ones own words should be allowed to linger so that others can have a good laugh too.

14. Saying you will put people on ignore isn't a threat
I always hate it when people act as if ignore is some kind of threat.
If you are going to ignore someone, just do it. There is no need to say anything public about it.

I have a huge ignore list and never say anything about who I put on it.

15. It doesn't matter who is President...
...in my opinion the corporations have bought and paid for our government. The corporations
are the pimps and our politicians are the prostitutes.

I think Barack Obama is a terrific guy. I voted for him because he wasn't corrupt and he
hadn't been in the Senate long enough to be corrupted beyond repair. I also liked his
stance against the Iraq war, his commitment to reinstate Habeas Corpus (which never happened), his
promise to close Gitmo (ooops) and the fact that he's not a raging narcissistic psychopath like
the last pResident we had.

However, it's become clear to me that the corporatocracy is our government; the corporations together
with the neocons are too powerful. I'm sure Obama was schooled about what was/was not going to go
down in his Presidency. Right after they told him that they'd be installing Tim Geithner and Rahm
Emanuel to ensure that things went their way.

What's a girl to do?

I don't know. I just know that I can't get excited about any candidate, until I see one who is
willing to bust up this corporate-warmongering-bullshit-takeover of our government that has sold the American
people down the river at the expense of corporate profits.

16. All I gotta say is that
the US Campaign season is too f*cking looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. It's a year and seven months before we vote.

Too much of a circus for me.
