E-cigs: GreenSmoke
I was reading another post about e-cigs and I started doing some research.
I smoke menthols, but I would like to stop "real" cigarettes.
Does anyone have experience with GreenSmokes? They look VERY simple...just 2 parts.
You screw the cartridge onto the battery and that's it.
You can buy decreasing amounts of nicotine until you are finally down to zero!
Anyone?

1. I smoked methol too and I'm using an e-cig.
I use "E Juice USA Mix Green" from http://www.ecigbestsave.com/default.asp

You can get it in varying strengths of nicotine. I've been very satisfied :)

2. Do you find it a hassle to set up?
What impressed me about GreenSmoke is the simplicity.
Thanks!

3. It's simple

All I do is take off the tip, refill it with a few drops of e-juice and put it back on. I have the "Joye eGo." There are actually a few videos on YouTube about it. It tastes very similar to a menthol light!

4. I'll check it out....
and look for the videos too.
Have you been bothered when/if you use it in public by the "smoke police"?

5. No problems so far.
I work at home though and only smoke at home or in the car. There is no smoke or odor, so I don't think it would be a problem. The vapor dissipates quickly. A friend of mine recently took her e-cig to a bar and didn't have any problems.

8. everybody's got to put their 2 cents in. i quit when i was pregnant with my 1st kid.
my husband just quit a couple years ago with the he,p of chantix. I am so glad we are free of cigarettes! but i also believe in a person's right to choose. And if they are sitting outside on a bench, then they are trying to be respectful. But I wonder where these e cigs fit in the code. I mean, there is no smoking in public buildings, but is it really 'smoking'? I welcome the added choice for smokers. And the idea that the FDA tried to ban these things!! I know, it prevents their taxes? At least it cuts down on the second hand smoke... and wasn't that the big concern?

22. That's not too bad for 25 years...
After researching the various cessation aides and gums and meds and all that, here's what I did. I quit without any of those things. They were very expensive.
I took a 2 week leave from work so that I could concentrate on quitting. I'm in a stressful line of work so I felt like I'd be setting myself up for failure if I didn't.

Yep, I was going to camp out on the couch and watch movies and totally veg out. I did get a bunch of junkfood (chips, ice cream, candy) and a box of plastic drink straws.

So I picked a day to stop completely and that was to be the end of that.
You know quitting is like losing an old friend. The whole routine of going out for a smoke after each meal or for breaks. Well, instead I used straws and gum. Yes it looks silly smoking straws but I didn't have to do it very long. Maybe 2 days.

I was expecting this horrible rash of withdrawal symptoms. I'd get them pretty bad just after several hours so I was waiting for all hell to break lose. I was fortunate. It never happened. Other people that had quit told me it would peak at 10 days. If you could make it through that, then you're out of the woods.

I stuffed my face with snacks and treats (probably unnecessarily) and began chewing gum regularly (still do after meals)

About 3 or 4 days into it my career-related obligations started nagging and I had to return to work earlier. But I was able to. I didn't need to smoke.

And so I was liberated from the grip of tobacco.

One thing that I noticed from quitting is that cigarette smoke smells super-terrible to me now. I can't stand it. It's like my body rejects it. I stay as far away from smokers as I can be.
I apologized to everyone like neighbors that smelled smoke that had drifted.

For me the hard part was finding something to fill the time and losing the routine. But it wasn't long before I got a new routine. That was years ago.

Anyway. Best of luck to you.

13. GreenSmoke is a low quality product. There are much, much better devices out there.
Edited on Mon Apr-04-11 04:16 PM by phleshdef
Try this site: altsmoke.com

They have high quality devices that offer a lot better quality than GreenSmoke. I wouldn't advise the 2 piece "air activated" e-cig. They just don't work very well. A button activated works much better. Plus, green smoke batteries and atomizers are overall low quality anyway. When I first started vaping, greensmoke was one of the models I tried and I would highly encourage you to go with the site I recommended.

At that site, I'd recommend going with an E-Go kit (not the Ego-T, just the regular E-go). Thats a good starter model and around 50 bucks will get you everything you need.

I smoked for 8 years, around a pack a day and my buddy smoked for 12-13 at over 2 packs a day. Both of us switched to vaping nearly 2 years ago and haven't even though about going back.

24. if you want buttonless...
I like the buttonless feature on the volcanos, and the weight is pretty nice. You can even recharge in the car. I'd go with a standard v-kit... but if you're used to taking heavy drags go with the magma.

http://www.volcanoecigs.com /

I'd recommend buying an extra battery, and a couple of extra atomizers as they only last about a month... Also pic up a few of the higher nicotine to wean down to mediums.

17. Oh you can get any flavor you want for any ecig you want from any manufacturer you want.
Basically, you can just buy the bottles of liquid straight up, thats what most people end up doing. Then you just drip the liquid directly into either the ecigs cartridge or atomizer (there are a lot of different options and I'd be more than happy to explain them better if you want). All of the liquid out there has the same basic stuff in it though, just some manufacturers make better tasting stuff than others. You can get a million different varieties of menthol, regular tobacco flavors, fruity flavors, pastry flavors, what have you.

18. eGo doesn't look like a cigarette.
Isn't part of the deal the touchy, hand and feel of a cigarette?
Do you miss that?
In the video I watched of greensmoke, the woman was comparing them to others and REALLY liked the product. (maybe she was a shill!) ;-)

20. Yea, it looks more like a small cigar. But you get to where you like it...
Edited on Mon Apr-04-11 04:50 PM by phleshdef
...the key is, that long part is the battery. The batteries on the ones that are actually cigarrette shaped aren't very good because they are so small.

I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that GreenSmoke doesn't come anywhere close to Altsmoke products.

Altsmoke also has the Yeti model which is more like a real cigarrette shape, you could go with that if its that important to you. Yetis work better than greensmoke too. But the Ego or one of the other larger models is going to produce more vapor thats thicker and it will have significantly better battery life in between recharges. You will care more about the vapor production than the shape of it, you can mark my words on that.

16. I first heard about e-cigarettes on here
I got mine today. It certainly seems like smoking, but I'm kind of puzzled on how many puffs to take. The jury is still out as far as I am concerned, but I don't find myself craving a cigarette - it's satisfying enough.

I'll have to give it a few days to see how it goes. I'm glad that I'm trying it, though. Anything to cut down on the number of cigarettes I smoke is a good thing, imho.
