Katie Couric's Outta CBS...
http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/04/04/katie-couric-quits-cb... /

Rumors have been swirling for weeks about what Katie Couric will do when her CBS contract expires this summer. Now, The Associated Press reports that she is heading to fill the Oprah-sized hole in the daytime talk show lineup.

According to The AP, Couric will step down from her role as anchor of the 'CBS Evening News' after almost five years in the job. The AP says a network executive, who spoke on condition of anonymity because Couric has not officially announced her plans, reported the move Sunday night.

No departure date has been set, but Couric's contract expires June 4th. She is now expected to launch a syndicated talk show in 2012, and several companies -- including CBS -- are reportedly vying for her services.

The New York Post reports that CBS offered Couric a new package including both a daytime talk show and a prestigious regular slot on Sunday night news magazine, '60 Minutes.' Although Couric's current contract stipulates that she contribute to '60 Minutes' at least six times a year, she still hasn't received any assignments from the producers

Not a big surprise...many thought she was gone in '08 but that was before she asked Grifterella what papers she read. So Katie's off to daytime TV...not much different than the gig she's giving up.

1. I agree with you - she's an actress (I won't pretend the news is anything but that) -
so it's off to the next gig for her.

2. Gettin' old...not so 'perky' anymore.
Lightweight at best, anyway.

3. She's probably a better fit with daytime talk than evening news.

5. Neither Will Mooselini...
guess she's gotta give up the 60 Minutes gig, too. Hope she didn't invest all that big coin with Madoff...she's gonna need it.
