5. It really depends on the types of material.
If it can spread and migrate, thene there mey be cause for concern. But if the material is essentially a solid mass of something that is not water soluable and not prone to spread with ocean currents... then there is little risk to anything. Water is a very effective shielding to emitted radiation. This is actually why spent fuel rods are stored in a pool.
