Afghan hero & activist Malalai Joya gave a great speech in Minneapolis on 4/1

Incredible event happened on Friday, Joya tells us what is really happening in her country, where are tax dollars are really going. Why the US government and Corporations want us to stay in Afghanistan.

The horrific abuse of women and girls (and female babies) that continue or even increase since Obama has taken office. I would think this should be news that was covered by our local media.
Sadly it wasn't. But it was covered by The Uptake, KFAI 90.3 who will play it on their Don Olson show, 950 AM radio with Nancy Nelson, Southside Pride, and local community show Our World In Depth.

All Representatives and Senators were invited to the event and to speak with Malalai Joya but none showed up. Senator Franken did send a staff member to meet Malalai and listen to her talk. Rep Ellison and Rep McCollum both signed a letter call for her Visa to be restored when initially denied. Sen Franken did call the State Dept to ask it be restored.

the 1st video is of the talk. You have to go through a couple of the introductions..and she starts a little quiet and then gets going. It was great that they had questions for her to answer.
I wish our US news would have her on instead of all the military and politicians.
It was a great opportunity to see and meet her. You can buy her books in paperback "A Woman Among Warlords" which has info through 2010. She gives a good history of Afghanistan, and US involvement.

the 2nd video is short and is when the press mentioned above interview her. It is good to hear what she has to say of the CIA and drug trade.
