2. Those poor dear people...
I think I saw that man in the top picture on TV... he was looking for his wife...

I must be all cried out... just dry.

I know something depresses me when I feel immobilized... and I feel like I'm wearing a lead jacket...

4. The devastation is terrible.
These poor people are in my thoughts and prayers. I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through.

7. For the life of me, I still don't know how one would begin...
to recover, clean up, repair, replace after such devastation. I don't even know where one would start. To me, it is so far worse in scope and scale than war-related bombing disasters, tornadoes, and anything else nature or man can hand out. I just cringe and tear up for the people faced with such overwhelming challenge. If it is the challenges in life that define you, then these people surely must be on the virge of something really amazing.

10. Indeed. That's what I keep thinking about as well, but I'm sure they haven't given up
I used to do disaster clean up for the Red Cross after major hurricanes and tornadoes. Those were a challenge; this defies any attempt to define it. I guess the best they can do is work on one small area at a time until it's back in order.
