Kansas voter ID bill excludes military and their spouses

The Kansas bill would require voters to show IDs at the polls. The ID could include a driver’s license, a state ID card or a passport.

Exemptions would include people with permanent physical disabilities or active-duty military personnel and their spouses.

So how would the military prove they are military? Show a military ID? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of being exempt? How about their spouses?

This is just crazy, IMO. Why exempt military??

I'm seeing a rush on military uniforms at thrift stores across Kansas.

they vote democratic. See "vote caging" in Florida, 2000 for example.

5. That's a myth perpetuated by the Republicans, in my family (which is full of military)

we're half Democrats and half Republican. My husband's reserves unit tended to have more Democrats in the enlisted ranks and more Officers were Republicans (when the orders for their unit to came down to go to Iraq, guess who bailed?). I find that the percentage of Dem to Republican in the military mirror the numbers in the US, it's just that Republicans are more vocal and big-mouthed (and tend to not follow the unspoken rule of not talking politics at work or not bashing your Commander in Chief).

Part of the Republicans' need to make Democrats unAmerican and heathens includes making it seem that the military is full God-fearing, flag waving Republicans. Cause Democrats wouldn't stand up for their country.
