So, let's see if I have this straight...
The President gets pressure from all sides to do something about Ghaddafi. Then, when he does, in participating in the execution of U.N. Res. 1973, he is then ridiculed, chided, criticized, maligned for having done it to the point that he is being called on the carpet as if a child who has been naughty?

What. The. Fuck?

2. All you here on CNN, MSNBC in the morning is
female 'news' casters asking "isn't the policy 'muddled', where's the exit strategy, why didn't he ask Congress?". When bush invaded a country based on ever-changing reasons? Silencio.

4. Psst. He's Black.
Plenty of the pasty, fat white men in Washington
are still pretty pissed off about that fact.
In that they only have limited time in their busy
schedules, they don't get the opportunity to attend
as many Klan meetings to air their hatred of the black man
who is our President.

Jimmy Carter nailed it.

They're just going to oppose him anyway. Battered wife syndrome comes to mind...

8. One point.
I don't people on the left were calling for air strikes. To tell you the truth, the right were unusually silent as well, given their past jingoism. Look, I'm sure his decision was a tough one, but it may or may not have been the best one. Ghaddafi's regime is still intact, if somewhat neutered, and may be living to fight another day. Was it worth side-stepping the Congress? You say yes, but I say yes only if this thing doesn't drag out any longer.

9. The air strikes did exactly what we were told they would need to do
by DefSec Gates. He said that ground targets would need to be taken out to protect coalition aircraft from being shot down. That included anti-aircraft and radar emplacements.

That people would get hurt should have come as no surprise to anyone calling for action against Ghaddafi.

12. I really disagree with many of the recent decisions of the man...
but I have to give him props on this. This is something that is totally out of character for our empire. Instead of fucking with people by kissing their dictator's ass, we decided not to. And Gaddafi was playing nice with the West of late, so this is really out of the blue. It's because they are worried about the oil flowing, but also that they might get a more stable government in there. Gaddafi is kind of wacko after all. Any world leader who dresses like Michael Jackson did in the 80s is in need of some kind of help.

15. Regardless...
He will win absent any major election tampering ala 2000 and 2004. I'm sure fair elections advocates are already fine-tuning their radar right now. (Yes, I'm looking at you Brad).

17. He did not get any of that pressure from me.
I am against War....Unless the USA is directly attacked or one of our very close allies, we should keep our military here in the USA doing training...This is an offensive venture. No one was attacked by anyone....Let each country take care of it's own politics in whatever way they choose.

He was not getting "pressure from all sides to do something about Ghaddafi." He made the decision. He owns it.
