Want Daily and Historical Radiation Readings for The USA?
http://www.epa.gov/radiation/rert/radnet-data-map.html

This interactive map from the EPA lets you click on fixed and portable radiation monitors all over the country. You'll see readings over a time period. Right now, they have the date of the Japanese earthquake centered on the data, so you can see how radiation levels compare for before and after the quake. Most of the monitoring stations are in large cities and near nuclear power plants across the country. It's a cool tool!

They also analyze the data and compare it with harmful levels.

Note: A very few monitors are not operating. One in Minnesota isn't. But, almost all are providing readings.

That's the way to see what's going on. Frankly, it's not much.

If you don't trust government agencies to give you correct information, then I suggest buying a Geiger counter and taking your own readings. You can find them on eBay and all over the Internet. You'll quickly find that the EPA's readings are quite correct.

3. My pleasure. I like facts, and some were saying that there were
no facts on radiation in the United States. I was sure that couldn't be true, so I used Google. Amazing. I found this site right away. How odd, eh?

2. I've been there.
I think it's odd how there was a big spike in gamma bands before the earthquake. Those bursts make it seem like a lf filter has been applied to the data recorded after the quake.

4. No. The spikes, as they say in the notes, are caused by electrical
interference. It's good to read all the notes. It's also good to put the levels into perspective, which the site also does.
