Ousted beauty queen wins back crown

SAN ANTONIO-- A jury has sided with ousted beauty queen Domonique Ramirez in her bid to get back her crown.

Ramirez sued to try to reclaim her title as Miss San Antonio 2011 after it was revoked earlier this year. The jury made the decision after a day and half of deliberations.

During closing arguments, the attorney for the Miss Bexar County Organization, Ben Wallis Jr., argued Ramirez lost her title because of her tardiness and because she was the one who broke the contract, not because of her weight. He also said Ramirez wasn't taking responsibility and needed to deal with the consequences of her actions.

Ramirez's attorney, Luis Vera, claimed it was the Miss Bexar County Organization that was in breach of contract by not providing Ramirez with a chaperone and driver as they had promised when her reign began. He also said she made some mistakes but was still just a child.
