3. that as plumes get over here, they carry things like Iodine
131.

And it will concentrate in the food supply especially milk.

Cows are really efficient at that.

I just got lambasted for that last week... as in seriously lambasted, for recommending that people get shelf stable milk NOW.

I was accused of fear mongering. Now a TV expert is saying the same with more plumes. (And if the iodine that has been detected in oh Sacramento was it, then they would be correct, but we still have a release.)

6. Was that the guy who was asked if he'd drink milk and said NO?
Was he talking about milk in Japan or here? I missed the entire question, but heard his reply...."no, I would NOT drink milk."

17. most people who want to provide credible information tend to give names and titles
claiming somebody as a tee vee expert struck me as hilarious, considering the state of mainstream media and/or scientific education these days, but you go ahead and ignore me for laughing at "tee vee expert"

The direct information from Japan has been good recently. Still, a long way to go.

5. Yeah but we did get Iodine and Xenon in Sacramento
So at the amounts they got it, as a ONE TIME event... no problem. This is expected to go for months, and I hope they are wrong on that one and they control the leakage SOON... SOONER better, for all concerned, especially Honshu... in particular Fukushima.

10. No, not really
it is soft preparation for the possibility of them having to tell you we got *hot* milk.

I wish they could be more open and actually have a good discussion on that HERE in the states. Funny. Tijuana Radio had that very adult discussion yesterday. We should be able to handle it.

You have to recall that milk and dispose of it.

14. There isa reason why I got shelf stable milk
and tried to tell people about it last week, and got the abuse for it.

That is the cynic in me.

But that story... was exactly what I am talking about. More of those will start popping, like popcorn now.

I have the urge to eat gulf shrimp and wash it down with California milk. If I repeat that process three time per day for fifty years, maybe I would die from doing so. But those fearing gulf shrimp and milk likely would be long dead by the time I croak.

Oh, I forgot SARCASM, well not remotely close to exactly.

25. You don't even reply to AsahinaKimi's fact that
lactose intolerance is almost a given fact for Chinese or Japanese people (good to have in mind if you ever get an exchange student.) And Europeans aren't the ones with the most tolerance at all (Switzerland, the milk and cheese country, is high as 10% in intolerance, and I'm one of them) but it's there anyway, as you cryptically say so.

I think Japanese people really don't care much right now about contaminated milk. Water might be a different issue.

Okay, I know, off to the Ziggy Stardust list I go with sparkles all around.

"typical."

Lactase activity in gut (like all enzyme function) ramps up & down depending on exposure to the substances in question.

japan has a dairy industry, concentrated in hokkaido. there is also dairying in fukushima & other parts of northern japan. japanese people drink milk & eat dairy products to varying degrees, partly dependent on age/region/local food culture as well as degree of intolerance.
