The Seismic History of Japan
Wikipedia has a very interesting article on great earthquakes in Japan, beginning in 684 AD. Only earthquakes measured or estimated at 6.0 or greater, and that caused serious destruction, are included, but it's a pretty long list. It's worth checking out. How many people even remember the
several large quakes since 2000?
