Probably been posted before but I just came across this video someone shot of the tsunami consuming a portion of a town. Must see. Sad but also fascinating to see this kind of power.

2. Holy shit is right... I've seen several incredible videos...

But this one was nearly at ground level and managed to change angles and views throughout. Obviously the person shooting was on some kind of bridge, but still seemed not totally out of danger. Impressive, but yes, holy shit!

3. Damn... I just realized at the very end is a family in their house or rooftop

that are not very high above the wreckage and water level--just after an entire house was shoved off its foundation like a box of matches.

I hope those people escaped somehow... were rescued. That's going to haunt me.

4. The strength of the current is evidenced in the latter part of the video.

It's interesting that the video begins as the water begins to flow into the area & shows, within minutes, how rapidly the water rises. Seeing everything swept away is just awful. I really feel for them.

7. Indeed, it was only a matter of minutes, and the current appeared to be so strong...

...even though it was relatively shallow at first there was very little you could do to fight it. :(

8. To see your city reduced to nothing in 5 minutes....just a scary thing to witness.

What a video. In the opening few seconds, there's guy speeding away from the water...I wonder if he made it. And the family on that building....the look of shock and fear is gutwrenching.
