100 miles per gallon.
After spending $80 to fill my car's gas tank, yesterday, and thinking about the ramifications of rising prices and 14mpg ('90 560SEL).

So I went down to Sorrento Motors and bought a perfectly restored 1966 Vespa with a steel Indian sidecar. 6HP original motor, 100mpg.

The thing looks like a really cool insect. I wish I knew how to post pics.

3. Great way of dealing with this! In my state one needs a separate
licence to drive those things.....insurance isn't cheap, and one can't drive it comfortably in winter.

But for 5 months a year, not a bad idea, my college roommate had one for those months, took it off the road in the winter.

5. My dear Sonoman!
What a cool sounding vehicle!

To post pics, you need to use a digital camera, and a program to put the pics in your computer.

Then, you need a photo hosting site; I use Photobucket. Sign up for a free account, and follow the prompts to post a picture!

If you need help, PM me...

I needed so much help, another DUer called me to talk me through the process. But I'm really stupid about computer issues!:dunce:

Good luck!

:hi:

10. The thing is crazy, Peggy.
I am now a serious student of centrifugal force(s). Make a hard right turn, you better hang on.

It has four headlights and makes people really happy. I took a couple of laps around the Plaza. I couldn't believe the reactions the thing generates.

Thanks for the tips, Ma'am, I'm gonna give it a try. You may be hearing from mme.

6. Drool!
Like to be able to afford one right now. Here in SR I can do most errands by bike but it'd be fun to get out into the countryside more on one of those.

15. Luckily, I live eight blocks from where I bought it.
I don't plan on doing any mechanical work on the thing. That's the advantage of having friends with trucks and trailers.

13. Yay!
I will never get rid of my 74 Norton Commando. Although it gets a lousy 50 mpg.

This is how we make the big big change in our impact. Use less. No technology needed. And when you really get inspired, ride the bike. I know that sounds smug. Especially since our society is all set up to kill bicyclists. But it's unbelievable what one can do with just a bike. I didn't believe it.

Now back to my monster backhoe... I just milled up a huge yard of lumber. And tonight I have the bonfire of bonfires. Can't do that with a Vespa.

16. Easiest way to post pics is to have your children or grandchildren do that. ;)
If you just mean posting pics that you already have on your computer, it's pretty easy. Just go to http://www.tinypic.com, upload your pic, grab the tag that has img in it, it will be surrounded with brackets and will look like <.img>http to your img<./.img> without the periods (inserted because you wouldn't be able to see the tag.

The downside to using tinypic is that you don't have an easy to access album of pics, you have to do it one pic at a time and if you forget the link you have to repost. The upside is that it's easy and free.
