Popular Christmas Gift For Women: Guns
Local Gun Owners Say Business Is Booming

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla -- According to some local businesses, a handgun is a popular gift this year, especially for women.

Forrest Buckwald, owner of Buck's Gun Rack in Daytona Beach, said crime and an increase in consumer spending is why business is up this holiday season.

He said they've seen a 30 percent increase and many of the buyers are women, or men purchasing a gun for their wives, girlfriends, or daughters.

Edwin Vega said his daughter put a gun on her Christmas list this year to protect herself.

"She doesn't want to come home, nobody at the house, and get into the house and somebody there," Vega said.

4. Each of my daughters got the handgun of their choice as college graduation present from their mother
She saved my ass with one once, figures her daughters should be able to do the same someday if needed.

5. Reminds me of the Christopher Titus routine
Wherein he tells the story of his mother, who killed an abusive spouse with the gun the spouse bought for her and taught her to shoot. It's pretty funny the way Titus tells it.
