http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2011/02/26/wisconsin-protests-spread-to-missouri/ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The state workers protest movement in Wisconsin has gone national this weekend with demonstrations supporting the Wisconsin state workers held in major cities around the U.S., including St. Louis.
After the rally here, the protesters fanned out to neighborhoods to drum up support. The St. Louis rally also targeted the Missouri legislature which, this week, plans to take up a measure to freeze the state minimum wage.
Meantime, hundreds of union supporters and tea party members held small but separate demonstrations at the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City Saturday.
The union supporters were on the north side.
On the south side of the Missouri Capitol, about 200 tea party supporters held a counterprotest in favor of the Wisconsin bill limiting labor unions.
