MADISON, Wis. -- Protesters at the state Capitol will have to completely clear out by the end of the weekend, as officials announce a return to normal business hours starting Sunday.
Capitol police said the building will revert to regular hours starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, at which time it will be closed to allow for cleaning.
Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs said in a news release that the Capitol will reopen on Monday for normal business hours, starting at 8 a.m. Police officials said they have spoken with and worked closely with the protest organizers, who have agreed to remove their items from the building.
"We are closing the Capitol for a short period of time for public health reasons, as well as for general building

Beginning Saturday, people will not be allowed to carry blankets or sleeping bags into the building, Tubbs said.
"You may be turned away at the door if you have something that is not permissible," said protester Carlen Bechen. "So, be ready to hand that off to someone to take back to the car. Have a plan."
Some groups that have had a daily presence at the protests said they have no plans of leaving, WISC-TV reported.
"We're focused on making sure that we continue the fight for workers rights, workers justice -- in a democratic way, working through the democratic process. In our minds, that includes staying here in the Capitol -- the people's house," said Peter Rickman, leader of the "Rank and File" group.
On Friday night, doors will lock at 9 p.m. and on Saturday at 6 p.m., police said. Protesters will be allowed to remain on the ground and first floors of the building, police said.
Any items left in the building after 4 p.m. Sunday will be taken to a designated lost and found within the Capitol for people to claim.
