Uh-Oh.. One of the Foxies is "off the reservation"

Shepard Smith excoriated the Senators who are holding up the so-called "Zadroga Bill" to assist 9/11 first responders who suffer from medical problems as a result of their time at Ground Zero. The bill, which provides $7 billion for the responders, passed the House but is being held up by Republicans in the Senate.

Speaking to Fox News colleague Chris Wallace on Friday, Smith asked, "How do they sleep at night after this vote on Ground Zero first responders from 9/11? Are they going to get that done, or are we going to leave these American heroes out there to twist in the wind?"

Wallace said he agreed that the bill needed to be passed.

Smith said he had watched Jon Stewart's Thursday show, which was devoted exclusively to the bill. He called Stewart "absolutely right," and said the holdup on the bill was shameful:

"Who's going to hold these people's feet to the fire? We're able to put a 52 story building so far down there at Ground Zero, we're able to pay for tax cuts for billionaires who don't need them and it's not going to stimulate the economy. But we can't give health care to Ground Zero first responders who ran right into the fire? Went down there to save people? Do people know what this city was like that day? People were walking over bridges, they were covered in ash, they were running for their lives, they were crying, their family members were dead. And these people ran to Ground Zero to save people's lives. And we're not going to even give them medicine for the illnesses they got down there? It's disgusting, it's a national disgrace, it's a shame and everybody who voted against should have to stand up and account for himself or herself."

Shepard Smith

Mug Shot
Shep Smith was arrested in 2001 after an altercation with another journalist over a parking place. Allegedly, a female journalist was saving a parking spot for someone and Smith backed into her car and yelled an obscenity to a group of bystanders. All charges against him were later dropped.

44. I though we were talking about Fox news hosts
who rattle the cage of the republican party

-he also said Judge Bush and company should stand trial

Btw about the 911 truth controversy, he said he did not believe the George Bush and the administration told the truth concerning the events/reason for the 911 attack and thats not the definition of a truther. Truthers believe 911 was an inside job and thats quite different from what he said

40. Actually it was Nov. 2000
and both were covering the election debacle in Florida. With so many reporters descending on a small area, I imagine that at key moments and places parking spaces were hard to come by -- not getting one could mean missing a deadline/getting scooped and ending up in hot water with the bosses. I can see how a conflict over a parking space at that place and time could get out of control real quick.

34. Had you bothered to go to the linked thread I gave you :
"We called a lot of Republicans today who are in office at the moment," he said Monday afternoon. "These are the ones who told us 'no': Senators Alexander, Barrasso, Cornyn, Crapo, DeMint, Enzi, Grassley, Kyl, McConnell, Sessions, Baucus, Gregg, and Inhofe. No response from Bunning, Coburn, Ensign, Graham, Hatch, and McCain."

"Why does no one want to talk about this?" Smith asked.

Instead, Smith had former New York Gov. George Pataki on, whom he asked: "Republicans wanted to get this tax thing done first, they wanted pressure on the White House. This was an issue they were using toward that end, without question. Was that too far?"

Good enough? I didn't have to watch anything.

My post was related to the the original post ... Your's addressed me personally, e.g., "If you had bothered", despite my saying that I did not listen to the video --- That should have been a tip off that I did not click on all of the links.

Back in the day when we (democrats/liberals/progressices had not acquired the license to act as snarky pricks, a simple, and civil, reference to the link (without the B.S) would have sufficed.

But merry Xmas anyway.
