1. There's probably only one business that does better than guns in border towns.

Funeral homes.

2. This is the Free Market in its full flowering.
With nothing but money as the driving force, with no element of human kindness, this is where it goes.

3. And because there is so much inequality in mexico that the only road out of
poverty for many people is drugs and crime. Where the USA is heading if you look at the inequality index.

14. And if you ignore the crime statistics
The crime rate in the US, specifically the violent crime rate/murder rate has been going down for decades. Despite what has happened with the inequality index which has gone up, the crime rate has gone down. Thus, there is zero evidence of a positive correlation between the two. That aside, I find the idea that the US is headed the way of Mexico to be unsupported by the facts on the ground, so to speak.

4. I dunno. I'll bet arms dealers from everywhere are looking to score a little
cake in the mayhem.

But mostly, you are right.

I KNEW alpacas were going to be a bust, but the wife said "Oh. NOOOOOOO No one is going to need 60 round magazines, not in THIS lifetime...."

This is all about the motherfucking drug laws. The guns aren't needed where there are no drug profits to be protected. God damn them all to hell.

6. It will be completely FUBAR to get that rat's nest cleaned out, too.
I don't think it can happen at this point. I think Mexico is gone.

Maybe the whole of Central America.

FUBAR.

9. Get your kind and sensitive ASS out of there.
Really.

Life is short enough, don't piss off the fates.

Come to Portland. Learn to ride a bike in the rain. Be a hipster. Diss microbreweries that make more than a thousand barrels of any given product.

Good times. Even for old fuckers.

Really.

12. Can't let it run me out of my birthplace. I do plan to visit Portland and Seattle sometime soon
though. Both sound delightful in the summer time. Wanted to show my kid lightening bugs, but he's almost too big for them. Does one ever outgrow lightening bugs?

17. Not me, I loves the lightning bugs.
IF I am still here and not riding my bicycle around the CONUS (talk about teasing the fates....) and you get here, I can show you around PDX and the local Charismatic Megafauna.

7. maybe if officials didn't something 15 years ago when so many WOMEN were being raped and Killed
This has been going on for awhile and it seems it wasn't until so many men were being killed did it gain national news.

they need to outlaw the AZ gun shows and do something about the guns crossing the boarder. A man here in MN who was buying and selling guns in Mexico only got 3 years. Incredible. He should have gotten 10. The deaths in Mexico are on his hands also

10. Yeah let's blame the easy target and not the root cause.
We all know that our drug war causes this violence. Blaming it on guns just shows your anti-gun agenda.

15. I agree
Mexico has had incredibly strict gun laws for years. The problem is the war on drugs. There is an immense amount of money to be made in an incredibly corrupt country and the drug gangs are in control.

19. I'm sorry for the loss of life, but "Allegedly committed by U.S. guns" makes no sense
Perhaps you meant to say that the crimes were allegedly perpetrated with firearms that had been illegally imported to Mexico from the USA.

From the first link:

...On Friday, 15 decapitated men were found in the resort city, one of the largest findings since 2008 when a similar discovery was made in the Northern part of Mexico....

Guns don't decapitate people. People with edged weapons decapitate people.
