| The teabaggers who are supporting the Walker union busting don't know what it will cost them |
|
These people don't realize all the unions have provided for them, even if they are working in non-union jobs.
5 day workweek 8 hour workdays overtime pay Holidays with pay safety Health Care at their place of employment breaks during the day minimum wages pensions in many jobs (this one is already being taken away in many non-union places of employment)
Add more as you can think of them...

Remember that?
I don't think the rank and file Tea Partiers are evil - just angry and uninformed.

precious few holidays, little regard for safety and face rising costs for their share of medical care and either no pensions to look forward to or pensions that have been robbed by corporations purposely going bankrupt.

|
This has been a 30 year push by the right and corporations (same thing) to kill unions. It all started when Reagan busted the air traffic controllers union.

taking them away from those that have them.
Like the Democratic party- yes, I am fully aware of the mountain of propaganda against the Left. But the Democratic party can't just whine and play victim. At some point, groups on the Left need to find a solution.

Prior to laws against child labor in the late 1800's and early 1900's, children as young as 5 worked in factories. Their job involved scuttling under huge machines to clean out debris. But if they were not very careful, the machines would rip off an arm, a leg, a hand, a foot, a few fingers and toes.
Even the operators of the factory machines frequently lost limbs. During that time, most average citizens considered the dismembered children and workers stupid for not being quick enough or smart enough. But the children were frequently forced to work excessive hours and were underpaid and hungry.
There were so many dismembered children and workers that some writers of the time said the streets in poorer areas looked like a war zone. So many people were missing limbs that you would have thought they were returning injured soldiers and civilians from a war.
That's what "free" market capitalism does when it can get away with it.
Thank a union member for OSHA and child labor laws too.

their rights. The United Mine Workers fought against company thugs and some of them died, for rights that workers now take for granted.
I saw this movie about 20 years ago and I'll never forget it.
