1. I don't like it when they compare us to Hitler. It's too easy to be a hypocrite.

28. Hitler was also a vegetarian...
Thus, we must assume that all vegetarians are fascists.

:sarcasm:

30. Godwin's Law serves more to suppress than to moderate
especially in cases where the comparison to the Third Reich is entirely legitimate and supported by the evidence!

As David Weigel says, "It's Time to Repeal Godwin's Law":

signage that states the truth?

9. It makes a big difference if the comparison is based in fact or fantasy. It does to me, anyway.
Thanks for guaranteeing this thread will keep getting kicked back to the top all afternoon, though.

Edited on Sat Feb-19-11 04:22 PM by RegieRocker
I don't get your statement. They are the ones trying to exterminate Unions.

17. How is it this a comparison to HITLER?
Stating historical fact isn't equating anyone with Hitler. Don't see a Hitler mustache on Walker or any other Republican.

25. They are only comparing the Tea Party
backed-corporate power grab as fascism. And it is precisely fascism, right down to the attack on collective bargaining. Maybe you should learn a little fundamental pre-WWII history.

5. and lest you forget, Hitler..
Hitler didn't START by abolishing Unions. He took lots of steps before he got there.

7. There was a prominent sign in the crowd yesterday -- "Who Else Outlawed Unions?"
Today they are sporting the answer to that question.

Thanks for this info.

11. charges of fascism were thrown about too lightly for decades, but it's warranted here
The word actually has a meaning, and this fits the template exactly.

19. "Honk if you've ever heard of Martin Niemoller"

I think I'll have a bumper sticker like that made up and put it on my car.

I doubt if I'll ever hear from any mouth breathing RWingnuts. :eyes:

Or Bonhoffer for that matter, speaking of Germans who spoke out.

29. abolishing labor unions
I saw acouple Hitler signs at the rally that I didn't think should been there--this one however was appropriate--this sign was both on topic and correct. It made no direct comparison between Walker and Hitler but merely pointed out a stark historical fact.
