"I SPECIFICALLY REGRET THE ENDORSEMENT OF THE WISCONSIN TROOPER’S ASSOCIATION FOR GOVERNOR SCOTT WALKER."

In all caps, no less!

2. OK...
So, now what's he going to do?

He helped get Walker in...

Will he work to get him out?

Talk is cheap, after all.

3. He's pissed. Read other entries:
I REGRET THE GOVERNOR’S DECISION TO “ENDORSE” THE TROOPERS AND INSPECTORS OF THE WISCONSIN STATE PATROL. I REGRET BEING THE RECIPIENT OF ANY OF THE PERCIEVED BENEFITS PROVIDED BY THE GOVERNOR’S ANNOINTING.

I THINK EVERYONE’S JOB AND CAREER IS JUST AS SIGNIFICANT AS THE OTHERS. EVERYONES FAMILY IS JUST AS VALUABLE AS MINE OR ANY OTHER PERSONS, ESPECIALLY MINE. EVERYONES NEEDS ARE JUST AS VALUABLE. WE ARE ALL GREAT PEOPLE!!

I assure all of you the real problem isn’t any of us!! Like barbarians at the gate the Governor has swept in with his entourage and turned us all against each other. We are at each other’s throats like something out of a science horror thriller.

People that weeks ago were expressing profound appreciation and gratitude for the work we all do are now accusing each other of being liars, and wishing death on each other. If a subject gets mentioned relating to the group all of the individuals in the group are resentful that they weren’t singled out and mentioned individually. The fact is we are still part of the group, and we will all suffer.

12. Endorsing republicans is commonplace for the Massachusetts State Police.
So common in fact that the MSPA endorsing the republican candidate for governor is a routinely expected. If other outcomes were not so frightening, having a republican governor give those ba****** the shaft would be popcorn on the sidelines worthy.

14. Interestingly, they were not going to "get" anything (at least in the short term).
Police, state troopers and firefighters were exempt from the cuts outlined in the budget.

30. but not all of their members do -
anyway, this guy's union was spared by the governor. he's rewarding them for their endorsement. he doesn't want it. here's the full note (all caps and misspellings included):

I VALUE THE CAPITOL POLICE, AND THE U. W. POLICE. I VALUE ALL OF THE POLICE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICERS OF ALL OF THE AGENCIES IN OUR UNION, AND THE STATE TROOPERS, AND THE INSPECTORS OF THE STATE PATROL. I VALUE “ALL” OF THE SUPPORT STAFF OF ALL OF THE AGENCIES AROUND THE STATE. I DON’T KNOW HOW ANY OF US COULD FUNCTION WITHOUT ANY OF US AROUND THE STATE WE ALL NEED EACH OTHER.

I VALUE THE BUREAU OF FIELD SERVICES, FIELD AGENTS OF LOCAL THREE, NO LESS THAN ANY OF THE OTHER MEMBERS IN THE UNION. I AM HERE FOR EVERY MEMBER OF THIS UNION AND ALWAYS THOUGHT I HAD BEEN UNTIL THIS WEEK.

I SPECIFICALLY REGRET THE ENDORSEMENT OF THE WISCONSIN TROOPER’S ASSOCIATION FOR GOVERNOR SCOTT WALKER.

If they held it today he'd be toast.

Edited on Fri Feb-18-11 11:36 PM by Canuckistanian
He can't "call in the troops", because even the troops are unionized.

How sad.

Sorry, Gov, no heads busted in THIS little "misunderstanding"

25. The "Wisconsin Troopers Association" is the lobbying arm for the union... NOT the union
Edited on Sat Feb-19-11 01:26 AM by Ellipsis
He is talking about the lobbyist group endorsement after Walker spoke last week Friday where he mentioned the the national guard and exempting the state and local Police, and firefighters. Sorry but the OP is Wrong.

I'm not certain... I also don't think his union supported Walkers campaign.

If you're from Wisconsin... These are the guys who call every year and beg for contributions. NOT THE SAME as the State Troopers.

26. The Executive Director and the President of the Wisconsin Troopers Association (the endorsers......
of Governor Walker) are the Treasurer and President of the Wisconsin State Patrol Union, Local 1.

Ryan Zukowski and Glen Jones are in the highest positions within Local 1, and they are the ones who signed off on Walker's endorsement by the WTA.

http://wi-troopers.org/dev/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/2010_WalkerEndorsementRelease.pdf

Interestingly enough, it is the Wisconsin State Troopers who have been tasked with rounding up Senator Mark Miller.

I find it unlikely that these two leaders of Local 1 endorsed Walker without the consent of the union rank and file.

If they did, they need to be sent packing.

27. Not lookin for a fight...
Take a Gander at this.

Last week, the Republican governor announced he intended to end collective bargaining for most public employees, but the State Patrol and local firefighters and law enforcement would be exempt from the law. The Legislature plans to take up the proposal this week, with a possible vote on Thursday.

That leaves UW and Capitol police officers and Department of Motor Vehicles field agents, all of which are also represented by Fuller's union, out in the cold.

Much of the backlash comes from the fact that the Wisconsin State Troopers' Association, a lobbying group which is not affiliated with the WLEA, endorsed Walker during last year's campaign, against the wishes of many in the union. And the Troopers Association was quick to applaud Walker's move to exempt the State Patrol from the curtailment of bargaining rights. The Troopers' Association, a group that lobbies for benefits, isn't affiliated with the WLEA.
