Photo shows Obama at dinner with Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg

(CNN) -- A photo released by the White House on Friday shows Apple CEO Steve Jobs, along with other tech luminaries, raising a toast with President Barack Obama at a dinner Thursday night in San Francisco.

The photo, of a private dinner during the President's visit to California, comes as tabloid reports, some featuring alleged photos of Jobs, have questioned the Apple leader's health.

In the photo, Jobs and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg flank Obama during the toast. Wearing his trademark black mock turtleneck shirt, Jobs is photographed from behind.
<snip>

Others attending the dinner included Google CEO Eric Schmidt, Yahoo! CEO Carol Bartz, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers, Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.

Also, Stanford University President John Hennessy, Genentech CEO Art Levinson, Steve Westly, founder of The Westly Group and John Doerr, a partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers

You know, the same companies we were cheering for helping the Egyptian protesters to organize?

But of course, Obama meets with leaders in technology that HAPPEN to be rich, and it means he's shilling out to them. DU logic at work.

50. That wasn't the goal of the meeting
Maybe they already gathered that information through other studies. Maybe there were meetings between lower-level advisers and the education community.

Point is, Obama met with these people to discuss implementing changes and to have some of the most important minds in technology give him advice on how technology can effect education.

31. I said technology was important. Better communication caused revolution in Egypt
Technology is a huge factor in organizing Wisconsin's protests.

Why is it wrong for the President to meet with the people who bring products to market that make communication easier?

And why is their this intense need for false comparisons?

that is just patently false. Typical bourgeoisie attitude.

34. It's not that billionaires are "evil" it's that capitalism causes so much inequity -
with just a few folks owning everything.

How is that good for the majority of the people of this world?

37. It's not
but that's the system we're currently in. These guys worked that system, and made it pay for themselves.

Some of them manage to do some good, in spite of it. And by and large these billionaires tend toward progressive values.

We will need wealthy progressives if we're ever gonna beat the other side. They have many more billionaires than we do.

Personally, I'd love to have a maximum wage. But I don't think this country would stand for it. Too many people dream of being rich.

Thanks for being civil too. I'm gonna try and be less caustic on here. Too many important things going down these days to keep fighting amongst ourselves.

John Doerr was appointed as a member to the president’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board to advise the president and his administration for fixing the economy during the recession.

He's the catalyst that makes a lot of things happen. He was also Clinton's go-to man in California; Clinton payed a visit to him EVERY TIME he visited Northern California. Doerr was also on Al Gore's short list for VP. Gore/Doerr ticket - Would have, could have, should have....

You say bosses, but I say trusted advisers, advisers that I would choose to throw my lot in with, considering the alternatives.
