Gas Station Charges Nearly $5 In Orlando


ORLANDO, Fla. -- One local gas station has drivers outraged.

The Shell station along the busy Vineland Road shopping area is charging nearly $5 for a gallon of gas.

Some people were paying the price, but others said sticker shock kept them driving.

"I looked at the price and saw how expensive it was and pulled out," said Robert Ahern, from Miami.

Other gas stations in the area were much lower, charging $3.03 to $3.09 -- both below the state average of $3.12.

1. I would think the only people they would sucker would be foreigners

Europeans who are used to much higher prices already and are not aware of the price elsewhere in the region.

Why else would anyone pay that price?

I don't see how gouging people isn't criminal?

2. That is Just the Way It Is In Orlando...

.....You have to be a wise tourist or a smart resident.... I noticed that when I lived there a couple of years ago...when prices in 2008 were in the 4+$ range gas station near the airport rental car zone where charging 6..7..9 $$$ a gallon..
