| This is perhaps the most true online statement I have read in the entire week. |
|
"Then perhaps the private sector should organize itself into unions again.
The ultrawealthy join unions. They call them "country clubs" and they get the poor and middle class to pay for their mistakes to the tune of trillions. Did you get a choice in the matter? Nope, you just got the bill. And why? You're not in a union. They couldn't get away with their corporate crimes if you were. That's why the corporatocracy fears most: you, the American worker, unionized.
It's what keeps them up at night."
*****************
And this my friends, is the reason why the corporate aristocracy has set out to destroy the working man's voice...city by city, town by town, state by state, election by election.
Pay attention.

one that have been targeted by lawmakers and the Taft-Hartley Act, but I believe workers in non union jobs need to start organizing themselves into professional organizations like clubs, you know flying under the radar, meeting in each others homes for coffee, not so much to do bargaining but to compare notes and plan some strategy to improve their lot. There won't be an official union for the corporations to bust. Workers and those subject to being wage slaves will be more like guerillas for a cause.

Not sure it would work, but not sure it wouldn't either. Certainly worth a try in some cases.

power is having more than 12% of the workers in this country organized. 12% won't make a dent in corporate power.
