Republican President Dwight Eisenhower on Unions:

*"Workers have a right to organize into unions and to bargain collectively with their employers. And a strong, free labor movement is an invigorating and necessary part of our industrial society."

*"Only a fool would try to deprive working men and women of their right to join the union of their choice."

*"Should any political party attempt to abolish Social Security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things, but their number is negligible and they are stupid."
---Republican President Dwight Eisenhower

At one time, the Republican party was Pro-LABOR,
and the Democrats were to The Left of that.

How far we have fallen.

1. They're still STUPID but their numbers are no longer negligible.

They make up the entirety of the Republican Party and most of the leadership of our own party.

5. The Republican Party, the Tea Party, even our own Democratic Party are just...
...sock puppets for the Lords of Money, who now control most of the wealth of this country and are now actively pursuing 21st century slavery for all of us. The Lords of Money aim to take everything, to control everything.

2. This is why I'm more favorable to OLD-school Republicans...
...like Teddy Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. I think they'd die all over again if they saw what has become of their party since 1994.

3. If Eisenhower was active today
he'd probably be a progressive. 90% tax on the rich and Unions those are the least republican things you could be today.

7. If Eisenhower were active today, he would probably meet his own "magic bullet" in yet...
...another Dealey Plaza.

9. It would be interesting to know what Ike thought about when JFK was killed
I'm thinking he didn't buy the "lone nut" theory.

10. I think he probably knew better. And I don't mean he was involved in any way, only...
...that he knew the MIC's capabilities better than most.

4. The rest of the passage (Texas oil millionaires) is critically important...
More of the quote:

Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid.

6. The Texas Petroleum Mafia is alive and well. They sit at the table with...
...the Military Industrial Complex and the International Banking Cartel.

11. Oh man. This could only have been said in the mid 1950s
Back when 36% of the labor force was unionized

When Communism vs Capitalism was an actual topic, not something in history books

Oh man

:banghead:
