Bentley came to Birmingham Thursday to address a luncheon on healthcare reform. Bentley told WBRC Fox 6 in Birmingham that he was upset the trees were vandalized. "I think it's sad to so many people take football to the extreme that they do. Toomer's Corner means a lot to people at Auburn." Bentley said.
Snip
The state of Alabama is about to boil over. Not because of racial violence. Not because of budget cuts, like Wisconsin. Because a fan of one football team vandalized an iconic landmark revered by fans of another team. It's amazing, really. The radio shows have talked of nothing else today. It would not surprise me if riots broke out. Posting in GD instead of sports because it's more about society than sports.
