Rove: 'Birthers falling into Obama's Trap'
Edited on Thu Feb-17-11 03:03 PM by kpete
Karl Rove blames 'Birthers' on a 'White House strategy'
to ensnare unwitting Republicans in 'Birch Society' trap
VIDEO & MORE:

ROVE: We had a problem in the 1950's with the John Birch Society, and it took Bill Buckley standing up as a strong conservative and taking them on.

Within our party, we've got to be very careful about allowing these people who are the birthers and the 9/11-deniers to get too high a profile and say too much without setting the record straight.

BILL O'REILLY: What percentage of Republican voters -- 5%, 10%?

ROVE: I don't know, but whatever it is, it ought to be less, because we need the leaders of our party to say "Look, stop falling into the trap of the White House and focus on the real issues."

..............

ROVE: Sure, it fits into the White House theme-line.

O'REILLY: But isn't that smart of the White House to do that?

ROVE: Oh, absolutely.

Look, these guys may be lousy at governing, Bill, but they're damn good at politics.

3. "these guys may be lousy at governing, Bill, but they're damn good at politics."
:wtf:

If that isn't the world's record case of projection, I don't know what is.

Adding :wtf: bonus points for his implication that Obama is behind the birther movement.

15. Loonie?
What if, on September 10, 2001, I told you that:

The FBI was tracking known Al Quaida terrorists on American soil and that even though they were well known by security forces, that the next day these same men were going to be able to hijack airplanes and fly those planes undetected through American airspace.

And that the defenses of America would NOT do one single thing to stop that from happening, even though the pResident of the US had been advised that such a thing was going to happen?

You'd have claimed I was loonie, right?

9. Ah, so it's all an Obama plot!
And note that Bill Buckley stood up to the Birchers back then, but today's Repukes stand up to neither the birthers nor the Birchers today.
