4.3-magnitude earthquake near Mount St. Helens is biggest in 30 years

Well, somebody had a Valentine's Rumble...

"Fault line, won't you be my Valentine?

The second largest earthquake since Mount St. Helens erupted -- a magnitude 4.3 shaker -- rocked a fault line six miles north of the volcano Monday morning. People felt it as far away as Astoria, Lake Oswego, Hood River and even Bremerton, Wash., near Seattle."

2. Felt it....
At first I thought it was my cat jumping up on the futon, but then I noticed television shaking. Went and looked it up at the USGS site last evening and sure enough.

7. Always try to blame the cats first

I do...

This is no doubt nothing to worry over (I hope.) i thought it was interesting that it's been so long since it erupted and i did wonder if any DUers felt anything.

3. What a scary place to live
Article says that since the 1980 eruption, Mount St. Helens experiences 1 to 2 quakes a day. I guess a significant earthquake was inevitable.

4. Mt. St. Helens is a great place to visit.
It's a crash course in the power of a volcano.

5. Haven't been there lately but was lucky enough to go in the mid-80's...
it looked like we were on the moon. Ash still covered everything and people were wearing masks and stuff. It was really amazing and I still have some ash from my visit. Wish I would have taken more.
