So I respectfully beg to differ.

I love music. the antics don't obscure the fact that she's a lousy singer.

Both 60 and Grammy's are on CBS. Could explain why they had the biggest pop artist of the moment on their show.

20. I know she says she loves Warhol.....
...so I can only hope her 15 minutes are up very soon.

All apologies to my gay friends and family who have my undying support and affection, and I do understand why they themselves support artists who support and stand up for them which she does. So for that she has my respect and I can understand why they choose to support her monetarily. All that being said I find her music to be utter dreck. And I'd have less problem with it if everyone involved just admitted it was all meaningless, overproduced, highly derivative pop confections, as that stuff definitely has a place in the music world. But the whole "Oh my god she's a brilliant, talented, innovative, edgy artist." thing just goes a bridge too far.

But in the end she clearly doesn't need my business so I'm sure her life will go on smashingly without me being a fan. And more power to her and to the people who find joy in her music which is all anyone can ask for. I'm just not one of them.

26. Lady GA-GA is intelligent.
I saw a speech by her concerning DADT. Other than being a patriot and feeling that discrimination against anyone is wrong, I had no stake in DADT repeal. GA-GA presented some exceptional reasons why DADT was wrong during a short speech that she gave. The speech showed a person who had thought about the issue and who was able to articulate those thoughts.

35. Lady Gaga is smart and has a very good voice.
She thinks a lot. I do not understand the weird costumes at all. I would much rather listen to her stuff than Eminem's rap crap. She says she has to have her work autotuned to compress it for the radio. Most people who use auto tune don't have good voices to begin with. I think auto-tune is evil--if you can't sing in tune you shouldn't bother. Then what do I know? I refuse to get an iPod because I don't like compressed music in MP3s.

I listen to CDs that have NOT had their frequency range/dynamic range compressed to get in a can.

I can tell from watching "Bad Romance" that Lady Gaga has a steady, in tune and powerful voice. Good sized lungs as well.

Madonna has a mediocre voice. Cyndi Lauper has an excellent voice. I studied classical music from the age of five on two instruments, also sang in church choirs and took two years of voice lessons. Learned to sing opera in German, French and Italian. I grew up in the sixties with one ear in the classical station, the other ear in the Top 40 Rock n Roll station. I think I can spot musical talent. I've gone to concerts of many genres (except country and rap) since 1964. My first concert was The Righteous Brothers.

Lady Gaga has thought a lot about fame and seems to be quite mature for her age. She is telling her fans that they can be superstars. She said she was bullied a lot in school for being weird.

I think it's great that she tells her fans it's all right for them to be themselves.
