Hummingbird watch
The two birds are taking their sweet time to fledge, but it could be a matter of minutes or tomorrow.

Interestingly, the mother bird is already starting on another nest in the yard. It has been a perfect clutch experience, so far. Probably why the babies don't want to leave.

1. One almost did. It tried its wings and flew out of the nest
for a tiny bit but landed on the edge and is now clinging to it. It seems really scared and excited.

6. There's probably some truth to that.
She doesn't come in as frequently as she did a few days back, and I'm noticing that tney're licking the limb and nest. I hate to think they're tasting their own feces, but, that would be the norm for kids, wouldn't it? LOL!

8. I've watched three rounds of nests now. This one's been pretty stress free.
One was beseiged by a lizard and a crow, one she destroyed herself after laying one egg--the mysteries of nature, no idea what was wrong but something clearly was. It's quite the drama. And always mekes me wonder how far we are from The Truman Show!

10. This is quite an interesting site. I'm not a birder, but I will take a
look at something like this. Plus, I do like hummingbirds.
