7. Even if he keeps 1 billion...

8. He's probably got it stashed around the world -- but anything they can retrieve
is needed, and hugely symbolic of his demise.

Reuters is reporting this now, by the way, in case you didn't see that. Looks official!

3. Mubarak was probably calling in all his markers
And the Swiss banks don't have the money on hand. They have no choice but to say his assets are frozen.

6. Now freeze some Americans accounts
Now they just need to freeze the assets of all the Americans who have money in their banks. Then I'll be impressed.

Swiss freeze assets as Mubarak steps down

The Swiss cabinet has decided to block any funds that may be held in Switzerland by former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak who stepped down on Friday.

It has published a decree asking Swiss banks to search for and freeze assets belonging to the former president and his family, a government spokesman said.

Swiss president and foreign minister, Micheline Calmy-Rey, who is on a visit to Madrid, said the decree had been published half an hour after the announcement of Mubarak’s resignation

A foreign ministry spokesman in Bern could not specify how much money might be involved.

And a hearty K&R

10. It is the correct and moral thing to do.
He shouldn't take off with his country's assets scot-free.
