I am going to wait and see what the administration says about the LIHEAP cuts.
Why is this? Because I've seen so many disingenous arguments hurled at the adminstration that I trust it more than it's critics from the professional left. More often than not, the panic and castigation is tenuous at best.

Credibility. It's what's for dinner and it's the other white meat.

8. That's my thought too... and I agree with the OP...
But whenever I say something I get a smackdown with some dumbass checkers/chess bullshit. I'm so effing sick of people who believe the bullshit in the news, and I'm even more sick of those who will sit and nitpick the minutiae of assumption. I thought we were better than that. Nope. We elevate that fertilizer to a new level of Idiocracy.

A guy who knows a guy who saw what Obama thinks because he dropped a coin into Doralidina's slot...

Good morning! I say what a joy it is to look ahead and show you the signs of your future. So much happiness is in store for you the most brilliantly lighted stars are put to shame by the brightness of your light! Oh, happiness what an illusive thing you are, but thank GOD you were born beneath this star!

Drop another coin in the slot and I will tell you more!

11. Think about what you are saying.
You are actually advocating disallowing the administration from explaining themselves, and drawing a conclusion from less information.

For all we know the same benefits are covered under a different line-item.

14. How many outrages do you need to endure before you begin to expect the outrages?
This administration has pulled crap like this time and time again, only to provide one weak excuse after the other. Frankly, I'm tired of giving them the benefit of the doubt, I know they don't deserve it. It's quite clear to me who this administration works for. It sure as hell ain't you or me.

30. The outrage over YEARS of foot-dragging by the admin was justified.
I find it contemptible to present revisionist history on the topic of DADT that trivializes the very real outrage felt by GLBT service members (and their families) as we watched a Democratic president--elected by popular mandate and with loads of political capital at his disposal--spend TWO YEARS slow-walking DADT into the dustbin of history.

:puke:

We can disagree over methods used to achieve a political goal, but to disparage the feelings of those whose lives were held hostage by DADT is beyond the pale.

And not only a continuation of bush's tax policy, but actively working to make them even more regressive. The catfood commission comes to mind too. Of course, when it turns out that this administration IS looking to slash LIHEAP funding, I'm sure you'll find an excuse for that as well.

80. What you call outrage was activism which had been going on
since Obama was in school. It was that very activism that got the repeal done, Obama just happened to be the pen holder. To repeat, years of activism and great sacrifice on the part of volunteers in our military got that repeal. Had there been years of inaction and silence, it would have gone the way of the Robust Public Option, which was going to be in any bill he signed until it just vanished. You see activism work and then you complain that it happened.

12. I jumped on the outrage bandwagon (justified!) at a report a while back where
I was full of "that's the last straw!" "He's gone too far this time!" type things. My blood was boiling, my stomach was churning. Turns out it wasn't factual at all, just a projection on peoples' minds -- including mine. I don't even remember the specific charge, but when I saw this, I remembered to not 'lose it' unless/until we know it's factual.

25. I Agree With You...Except
Consider this.

Why would the Administration allow this kind of trial balloon out there?

Some have said that this program needs to be cut because of mismanagement and that a certain percentage is being wasted. Okay, so be it. But why does the Administration allow this to go out without some sort of explanation so that it is not misinterpreted?

I can only assume that they did not think it was important. Or perhaps they don't care how it is interpreted. Regardless...it is yet another indication that the Administration is incompetent at best.

82. Meanwhile some people will FREEZE TO DEATH
'cause really, that's what LIHEAP provides: heat in the winter to protect lives and health. Cut it, and some people will cut corners and go without adequate food or medicine or heat and some will be injured or die.

Or we could tax the wealthiest and they'd have to subsist on less caviar.
