Here's what Bush did when interrupted by an Irish interviewer:
Edited on Mon Feb-07-11 08:56 PM by JohnnyRingo
"The White House has lodged a complaint with the Irish Embassy in Washington over RTE journalist Carole Coleman's interview with US President George Bush.

And it is believed the President's staff have now withdrawn from an exclusive interview which was to have been given to RTE this morning by First Lady Laura Bush.

It is understood that both RTE and the Department of Foreign Affairs were aware of the exclusive arrangement, scheduled for 11am today. However, when RTE put Ms Coleman's name forward as interviewer, they were told Mrs Bush would no longer be available.

The Irish Independent learned last night that the White House told Ms Coleman that she interrupted the president unnecessarily and was disrespectful.

She also received a call from the White House in which she was admonished for her tone.

Continued here:

She got exactly one interruption before she got her head snapped off, and here's a sample of what the right thought of the slight:

Irish citizens had questions they wanted awnsers to? Then maybe the reporter in question should have allowed him to awnser. That you think his awnsers were BS is irellevant The reporter ASKS the questions and the interviewed AWNSERS. If the reporter does both its not an interview.
Irish citizens had questions they wanted awnsers to? And the president of the U.S. cares what the irish want for WHAT reason? You should be glad he was even willing to visit your tiny little island in the first place.
Terrorism is at its highest levels in 30 years? Yeah and it was that high BEFORE the war in Iraq as well. I am so sick of you europeans apologigising for the terrorists.

O'Reilly supporters claim it's just his hard nosed style of jounalism, but compare this interview with one he gave the former president:

3. The funny thing is, if Obama REALLY wanted to court Republican votes,
Edited on Mon Feb-07-11 08:55 PM by Marr
he should've done the same thing Bush did. The only thing they respect is strength.

7. No, not walking away-- acting like a bully.
I didn't say *I* would find it appealing, but an authoritarian would likely consider such a display to be a sign of strength.

10. To conservatives, yes, of course.
Edited on Mon Feb-07-11 10:39 PM by Marr
Are you saying you think Obama's approach is perceived as strength to conservatives?

12. Please read your post again...
It was FAR from clear that you meant that Bush was perceived as strong only to conservatives....And really, you are going to have to point out exactly where is is in my question that you see me say anything about President Obama being perceived as strength to conservatives.

Speaking of clarification, what do you mean by, "President Obama being perceived as strength"?

6. Two of many differences between Obama
and little boots is the fact that Obama has class and intellect. Shrubbie was a gutless little shit his entire life, I don't expect that to change.

11. So what?
I voted for a man who is decidedly not like George Bush; why would I want Obama to act like him?
