Not that it's a problem. I'm already a citizen. I was helping my son with his homework tonight. We discovered that you can't become a citizen and be a communist or a member of any other totalitarian political party.

But, since I'm already a citizen, I can join the communist party and not lose my citizenship.

It's messed up that we restrict political affiliation for those who want to become an American, but not to those who already are.

Just doesn't make sense to me. Is it just me?

2. It isn't just you, that makes no sense.
And why is communism considered a "totalitarian" political party? If done properly, I don't see it.

But I am always confused by all this. I always thought that communism was more of an economic system than a government system.

Democracy:Monarchy as opposed to Capitalism:Communism.

3. It makes sense if you realize that
most right-wingers (and too darn many Democrats) think capitalism is our form of government.

5. No, they think it is democracy.
Which it is not. And they think democracy equals capitalism. This is even worse.

4. If you're from China, forget about "change within the system"
if you ever want to not just become a citizen of the U.S., but become a permanent resident.

And by the way, I'm stuck in Argentina because I can't sponsor my wife's immigration. Why? Not only can you not be a Communist, but you have to have a certain income level. And it's not the minimum wage, let me tell you.
