The counterrevolution will be tweeted

http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/02/03/5983241-the-counterrevolution-will-be-tweeted

The Atlantic's Max Fisher says he's seeing a bunch of suspicious new Twitter accounts praising President Mubarak and condemning the revolution. He points out the tweet above, from an account with four followers and an apparent start date of yesterday.

"Either a bunch of people who REALLY love Mubarak just decided to start accounts or the regime is now pushing Twitter propaganda," Fisher writes.

An Egyptian journalist and pal, Nasry Esmat, says the Arabic part of the tweet translates as "Sedition is more fatal than killing."

Esmat describes it as a relatively common saying, mostly metaphorical and with origins in the Koran. "It means that sedition that creates a split in a nation is more dangerous and more condemned than a murder for its dangerous effects."

3. More dangerous to who?
That is the concept of control and stability first above any other concern, including the proper treatment of the people in the system.

Those items creep in by support of status quo and desire to control a system.

to use that statement without the context of the state in question is meaningless.

It is another example of justifying murder without thought of feeling, by miss interpretation of some text.

What might it be about? couldn't you say the same thing about the split in Abrahamic faith?

Why not say that about any contestation of any group against another. For both sides.

The only thing that says is kill to get people to 'agree' with anything you think is valid. It does not address the validity.

It is wrongly applied in many cases.

Honorable anything would look at the quote within a full context of the situation, and not use what many consider Holy writings to support a cause for themselves by claiming it applies to the situation they want it to because of their own thoughts not defensible thoughts of a religious thought.

And which side causes the split?

It is nothing more then justifying an action by some edict, garbage rational without thought or feeling.

4. Those egg avatars are a dead giveaway
That's the default Twitter avatar. Most users at least take the time to upload an avatar that reflects them personally.
