Poll question: Pro-Mubarak Thugs = Tea Party Town Hall Disrupters
Edited on Thu Feb-03-11 12:30 PM by onehandle
Both are bankrolled by dark forces against their best interests.

1. Other. I think there's a more direct link between Mubarak's thugs and Mubarak. I'm under
the impression they are being paid for their disruptions. So many of the Teabaggers didn't realized they were being bankrolled and manipulated.

3. ^^^^^This.
There's plenty of evidence from journalists on the ground and previous history to support it.

4. I don't think the Teabaggers care that they were 'being bankrolled and manipulated.'
Edited on Thu Feb-03-11 12:15 PM by onehandle
Someone on Lawrence last night said that the 'thugs' were doing their thing for as little as half a chicken.

Willingly bankrolled and manipulated against their best interests.

And clearly there is a link between Mubarak and the thugs.

13. There's a clear link between...
TeaBagger buses and barbeques too. But try telling that to a 'Bagger.

12. They were clueless as to how all those fancy buses...
And beer and barbecue were paid for, and how it was organized. They were loaded onto buses and told they were going to be part of this huge grassroots movement!

I think the people of America, the TeaBaggers in general, need to be shown what real grassroots revolution looks like. It's not sitting in a lawn chair with beverage brew bags hanging from a stupid hat.

2. Where does Code Pink fit into this equation? Are they equivalent to Pro-Mubarek Thugs?

5. Obviously that doesn't count.
Can't you see we are trying to have our 5 minutes of hate here?

This comparison is pretty ridiculous, and I think the poll result is something of an embarrassment to DU.

7. Code Pink is not working against their best interests.
They aren't bankrolled by dark forces.

17. All that is highly debatable.
Thrusting bloody hands in the face of Condi Rice on national television was quite a stunt and highly popular here, but it gave Code Pink the reputation of being populated by lunatics. If I were a fence-sitter or leaning ever-so-slightly to the right, Code Pink's public antics would be perceived very much as against their best interests (ie, convincing people that their cause is correct), and I'd wonder just who is bankrolling such activities.

It all depends on one's perspective.

9. Attempting to equate Mubarak's looting, raping, killer henchmen with ignorant hecklers...
does nothing but trivialize the plight and real danger Egyptians are facing in standing up for freedom.

Your insinuation & poll are full of sensationalism, conflation and is disgraceful.

10. Oh please...
This revolution is exactly what grassroots looks like. The distinction NEEDS to be made.

Grassroots revolt can get your hands dirty, and there's no beer and barbecue waiting at the end of your posh, private, fancy, corporate funded bus trip.

This does NOT trivialize the Egyptian people's efforts here in the slightest. It merely puts TeaBaggers in the correct light. The juxtaposition between the two groups is unnerving and it should be shown.

18. "The distinction NEEDS to be made." I agree, but the OP is trying to equate the two!
Bogus.

Watch how fast our anti-government baggers turn into pro-government assclowns once they get control of the White House again.
