We can forget about the army trying to stop thugs because it's the Military Police that invaded the center. Suleyman's goons are not on the people's side. Bear with me while I catch up with whatever clues they left.

My main consolidated Tweet feed which was used by journalists and activists has completely disappeared as if it never existed.

Lots of my tweets have dead silence now.

Message from Ahdaf Soueif

"Good friend just saw 8 to 12 people being dragged out of No 1 Souq el-Tawfikiyyah St and bundled into a civilian micro-bus while a military police vehicle waited nearby. The people were being beaten and the street had been told they were "Iranian and Hamas agents come to destabilise Egypt" so the street was chanting against them. No 1 Souq el-Tawfikiyyah St is the home of the offices of The Hisham Mubarak Legal Aid Centre, The Centre for Social and Economic Rights and The 6th April Youth.

And, btw, my brother-in-law, the lawyer Ahmad Seif is the Hisham Mubarak Legal Aid Centre.

Please get word out o as many news outlets as you can".

17. UK Petition : going to David Cameron this Sunday

monasosh #Jan25 RT @hananegypt: PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION: http://bit.ly/gRvM8z it's going to David Cameron THIS SUNDAY
2 minutes ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

To: British Government
Petition to No. 10 Downing Street
From: United Egyptians, London
Date: Sunday 6 February 2011

Background:
We, the United Egyptians, a group of concerned Egyptian citizens, are extremely distressed with the latest developments in Egypt. Since Tuesday 25th January, millions of ordinary Egyptians have taken to the streets to protest against the repressive 30 year dictatorship of President Hosni Mubarak and his regime. Under Egyptian Emergency Law, enacted in 1981, Mubarak has systematically denied basic social, political and human rights to the Egyptian people. The character of the current protests in Egypt has been a grassroots movement; based on a broad spectrum of the Egyptian population, from a variety of political and social backgrounds. Protests have been secular and inclusive of all communities in Egypt, regardless of faith or political affiliation, and represent the popular consensus for democratic reform.
Mubarak and the current regime have responded to calls for reform with intimidation, beatings and killings and have attempted to isolate the country from the international media. They have hindered communication and freedom of expression by disconnecting internet and mobile services nationwide. Security services and government sponsored thugs have attacked unarmed peaceful protesters and have used live ammunition against crowds of men, women and children causing large numbers of deaths and injuries. The protesters are now besieged and are being denied medical supplies and food.

While we firmly believe that it is the right and responsibility of the Egyptian people to make a stand for their rights, we believe that the international community must put pressure on the Egyptian regime in support of democracy and human rights.

We strongly urge the British government to take a firm stand, using its influence to press for:
    1. The immediate cessation of all forms of violence and intimidation targeting the peaceful protesters across Egypt and the safeguarding of their right to peacefully gather and protest.

    2. The unconditional resignation of Hosni Mubarak, effective immediately.

    3. The establishment of a transitional governing body representing the protesters and opposition groups from across the Egyptian political spectrum.

    4. The oversight by this governing body- within a predetermined period of time- the drafting of a new constitution and the facilitation of free, fair and inclusive elections that are independently monitored.

A full version of this petition will be delivered to No 10 Downing Street on Sunday 6 February 2011 at 2pm.
You can sign the petition online at: http://www.petitiononline.com/EGYPT01/

Please join us in protest outside Downing Street from 12-3pm.

For further information, please contact: [email protected]

Please don't respond to my phone or BBM. This isn't me. My phone was confiscated by a thug of an officer who insults those who call.

Compare these two articles.

CAIRO — Whipped up by state television and spoiling for a fight, thousands of supporters of President Hosni Mubarak flooded into the center of Egypt’s capital Wednesday, sparking violent clashes that shifted the momentum in a political confrontation that has gripped the region and the world.

    www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/02/02/AR2011020203035.html?wprss=rss_print

CAIRO — President Hosni Mubarak struck back at his opponents on Wednesday, unleashing waves of his supporters armed with clubs, rocks, knives and firebombs in a concentrated assault on thousands of antigovernment protesters in Tahrir Sqaure calling for an end to his authoritarian rule … The crackdown was in defiance of calls by the United States and Europe to avoid violence … The Mubarak supporters emerged from buses. They carried the same flags and the same printed signs, and they all escalated their actions, from shouting to violence, at exactly the same moment: 2:15 p.m. The protesters showed journalists police and ruling party identification cards which they said had been taken from Mubarak supporters who had been caught infiltrating Tahrir Square, also known as Liberation Square, and detained in a holding pen.
