"marijuana is being diverted, which means they're selling it for profit"
Drug trafficking in Fresno County, the Sheriff's department says it’s a growing problem.

“Under the guise of medical marijuana acres and acres of marijuana is being diverted, which means they're selling it for profit,” said Sheriff Margaret Mims.

Working with the drug enforcement agency and other federal agencies, the sheriff's department has been tracking their operations. They discovered storage facilities with containers full of marijuana. The drugs were processed and packaged in one pound increments, ready to be sold. In another case investigator followed the drugs all the way to Boston College.

“The person that had delivered it had taken 10 loads of marijuana already one load was so large, he took a U-Haul truck,” said an investigator.

....

“We were able to leverage federal funding to help with those investigations. And when we get federal prosecutions, my hope is that federal funding will continue,” said Sheriff Mims.

1. Uhaul truck
Yeah, I always use UHaul trucks to move my large marijuana shipments all the way across the country. Nothing less likely to be pulled over than a UHaul truck with out of state plates.
Brilliant stuff.

4. If it were legal, there would be no need to haul it to Boston.
and the cost would be insignificant because it can be grown most anywhere.
