Congress Passes Socialized Medicine and Mandates Health Insurance -In 1798
The ink was barely dry on the PPACA when the first of many lawsuits to block the mandated health insurance provisions of the law was filed in a Florida District Court.

The pleadings, in part, read -

The Constitution nowhere authorizes the United States to mandate, either directly or under threat of penalty, that all citizens and legal residents have qualifying health care coverage.

State of Florida, et al. vs. HHS

It turns out, the Founding Fathers would beg to disagree.

1. WRONG
From the link:

"Each of us has the option to turn down employment that would require us to purchase private health insurance under the health care reform law."

What employment would that be??? The Unconstitutional mandate, which is a payment to PRIVATE corporations, is for EVERYONE. There is no job I can do in this country that I am exempted from the mandate that forces me to give my money to a for-profit monstrosity.

The only way I can avoid this abomination of for-profit benefit, is to die.

You folks wailing around trying to defend this mandate need to get your head examined. Just because the President made it happen, doesn't make it good law.

6. Unfortunately, No.
And if I was mandated to buy it, it would destroy my financial well being and set me back on my goals at least 10 years.

7. Prepare to be called a "Freeloader"
which would be a bad thing if a (R) says it. But since it's a (D) talking point, you'll hear it more and more. Guaranteed.

I can't wait till someone in real life calls me a freeloader because I don't pay Wellpoint $400 per month for a "policy" that they can cancel due to the fine print at any time. They are going to find out exactly what plastic surgery costs. That is not a threat, that is a promise.

There's no talk of discounts for those of us like me who actually took nutrition seriously for years (and look 10 years younger than our peers for it).

If you want to know the current state of health in this country, ask 5 of your friends if they consumed their *essential* daily nutrients.

Usually that results in a blank stare. Because they DON'T EVEN KNOW what they are.

But we're going to be required by law to pay into a company that pays their CEO $15 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR. Beyond belief. If the citizens are dumb enough to allow this to be foisted upon them perhaps they deserve it.

5. from your link:
In July of 1798, Congress passed – and President John Adams signed - “An Act for the Relief of Sick and Disabled Seamen.” The law authorized the creation of a government operated marine hospital service and mandated that privately employed sailors be required to purchase health care insurance"

Did the feds require all citizens to be "privately employed sailors"?

"When Asked Where the Constitution Authorizes Congress to Order Americans To Buy Health Insurance, Pelosi Says: 'Are You Serious?'"

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/55971

The other thing often employed by those asking for acceptance of this travesty of the commerce clause:

Auto insurance

Never have the Feds required Auto insurance. They do not have that power, assuming (...) the constitution still applies.

Let me ask you this:

If McCain had won, and his administration had passed a law requiring every citizen to purchase, without a public option, "health insurance" from a for profit company, or face harassment from the IRS, you would have supported it. Even after his wingman had advocates for the Public Option *ARRESTED*. Right?

I don't think so.

What this despicable exercise in rationalization shows is that all that matters is the proponent of any particular legislation wears the proper letter after their name.

It's disgusting. In fact, this is the most disgusting thing (outside of the immoral wars) that either party has *ever* advocated.

It's shocking to the conscience, especially coming from (D)emocrats.

Most people don't even know (thanks to our glorious media, most of whom have their heads up DC Powerbrokers asses) that they will be required to file proof of insurance with their taxes in 2014.

And when they do, run for cover.
