1. You need to move. Or install a security system. Interesting list
So many on DU claim that Democrats and Republicans are "just the same"

2. The problem is todays Dems are essentially the Republicans of 30 years ago and todays Republicans...
are Republicans from the guilded age.

The Dems of the 60's have went the way of the Dinosaur.

9. That should be "Gilded Age" -- gilt being a thin gold covering.

A "guild" is an association of working artisans or craftsmen, you know -- the "working people banded together for common good" idea that makes all Republicans break out in hives.

Edit for tyop.

14. Well, yeah, but I'm not very good at past pluperfect conjunctivated

compound gerund ampersanded-and-varnished verb conjugations myself, so I never try to criticize anybody else's . . .

Just found it interesting that "Gilded Age" is the ideal of the moneyed classes, whereas a real "Guilded Age" would make them run screaming in terror, clutching their moneybelts and summoning their private security details.

3. Whenever the Republicans move farther to the right, the Democrats follow along behind.
So they aren't quick the same.
