Indictment? Really? I would hope not. Like it or not, most hate speech in the U.S. is still protected speech. Incitement is a different matter all together and I would expect indictment from that.

I predict the future of this incident however will not result in anyone being reprimanded, fired or indicted. It does however add one more item to the laundry list of hateful, derogatory and otherwise inflammatory statements made by certain American celebrities. It is this laundry list that, in time, will cause the change in tone. It is possible still that people will get fed up enough and force the change in rhetoric.

That said, I still wonder why we haven't had riots here in the U.S. as in the U.K. and Greece. It's seems almost (if not exactly like) mind control sometimes.

Two different sets of rules for dealing with "hate speech" at the opposing ends of the spectrum. There's always been varying levels of tolerance for incitement depending upon who it is who says these things and what organizations they work for.

Undoubtedly, the American people have long been the most effectively pacified public in the world. I think it's interesting and ironic that Beck talks about Edwards Bernays, since the organization he works for, News Corporation, essentially functions as a giant global propaganda machine.

to commit murder. His words pretty clear, his context is pretty clear, he can't possibly claim his words were taken out of context. The context IS to kill liberals. This is disgusting.

At least, that's what Beck or Limbaugh or any of the rest of their ilk morph into whenever their blather finally crosses the last line marking the boundary of propriety. So Beck was just, you know, being an entertainer, no different than Lenny Bruce saying "Nigger, nigger, nigger" or Sam Kinison or Lewis Black. See?

7. I like checking out a site called Above Top Secret

for some of the weird stories they post. It's a site for conspiracy theorists, among others, and it turns out that the accused Tucson shooter posted there a couple of times. You get all kinds - liberals, conservatives, anarchists - once in a while someone will post something with a FR address line in the original message as the "proof" for whatever they were discussing. Anyway, yesterday, someone posted this story and the Beckerheads were furious, claiming it was libelous and had been taken out of context. Then someone else posted the video clip and that set the Beckerheads off even more. They kept screaming that anyone could have strung together clips of Beck to make it sound like he was saying to shoot Democratic leaders in the head.

8. This needs national attention. For rather obvious reasons, CNN has a deep dislike for Beck

perhaps someone there will pick it up. They are still doing pieces on "civility."

I hope this clip is posted to blogs EVERYWHERE and stays there long enough that it cannot be ignored.
