Marriott says no to adult movies in new hotel rooms
Marriott says it won’t provide access to adult movies from new hotel rooms it opens over the next several years.

The decision to go porn-free comes after years of discussing whether the availability of lucrative adult films in guest rooms is appropriate and whether safeguards exist to prevent children from seeing it.

Marriott, though, links the move to a pending shift to new in-room entertainment technology for its new hotels. Traditional video systems — which included access to adult content displayed in the menu selection — will be replaced by Internet-based video-on-demand systems.

1. Dumb.
Most lucrative 5-7 minutes those hotel rooms experience, bar none.

2. Eh. These days we all have laptops. If we need somethig new we can use the free high speed internet
to download whatever we happen to like. I prefer stills over video and my tastes are actually 'erotica' instead of 'porn' so I don't 'do' the hotel porn anyway. At any rate, you can get what you want when you want it with the internet.

People have, why bother with a in~room television? If someone wants porn badly enough, they can just Google it.

4. No need for even a laptop
Any smartphone would be sufficient.

5. porn is nowhere near as profitable as people imagine,
To my eternal shame porn is something of the "family business" - the formerly criminal element of my extended family has been in the business since the 70's. They aren't making much of anything on pay-per-view.

6. Drury Hotels posted this on their FB page,
patting themselves on the head because they have such good family values to have "never" offered adult movies.

I really like Drury, they have nice and comfortable hotels, but I really don't care what goes on in the next room as long as they are quiet when I want to sleep. As far as the adult movies, I rarely watch TV beyond the local weather if I am traveling so it makes no difference to me what they have available.
