Blago, this guy, Christie

Maybe, maybe, maybe, the message will get out that holding public office means serving the public, not filling your pockets or climbing a rung to the Presidency. Maybe.

1. No Elephants, it's corruption from sea to shining sea.
It cannot end well.

2. The Gov. claims no Virginia laws were broken.

Thing is, legislators make laws. Same as Congress. You have to prove a quid pro quo: "I am giving you this gift so that you will use your power to do xyz for me or my company." How dumb would you have to be to say that?

Far better to make generous donations and gifts and hope for gratitude, especially from someone who is going to run again.

There should be a very modest limits on "generosity" to elected officials, regardless of whether any quid pro quo is desired/expected.

One of the donor's new products (a pill) was launched from the Governor's mansion, yet the Gov. claims the guy got nothing.

Morning Schmoe just could not understand why the feds were prosecuting when no Virginia laws had been broken.

Yes, Joe, feds prosecute for violations of federal law, but only if citizens are lucky.
