While interviewing Trayvon's Martin's parents, Lauer sets things up to make the audience think he is being scrupulously fair and accurate (or, should I say, fair and balanced?)
Lauer noted that, inasmuch as we have only Zimmerman's word, we have no way of knowing what actually happened. Then, however, the disingenuous Lauer continues, "But we do know that it turned violent and we do know that they both reached for Zimmerman's gun and we know that Trayvon was killed....."
Say what?
How do we know there was any violence other than what Zimmerman inflicted on Trayvon and possibly on himself? We don't.
How do we know that they BOTH reached for Zimmerman's gun? We don't. We know only that Zimmerman reached for it.
Fortunately, Mr. Martin caught Lauer and pointed out that those were Zimmerman's words. However, several things had been said in the meantime, so I am not sure the audience understood the reference. Lauer well may have caused the audience to believe that we somehow know, apart from taking Zimmerman's word for it that Trayvon was violent and that Trayvon definitely reached for Zimmerman's gun.
That wingers are dead certain that Lauer is a Democrat shows only how incredibly dense some wingers can be. They cannot grasp skillful slanting. Hell, some of them don't even get that Fox is biased. Or, at least, they won't admit it.
