Dennis Kucinich opts out of Washington state race, will retire
Edited on Wed May-16-12 07:52 PM by KoKo
(This makes me very sad to lose his voice in the House. And, that he and Howard Dean Supporters were the ones who brought North Carolina into the 21'st Century in the upcoming 2004 Election.

I feel very sad about this. I feel like it's a death..

I know many DU'ers hated him..including the long time DU'er William Rivers Pitt who worked for his candidacy and thought that Dennis was a "disorganized loser." (paraphrasing)...but, I saw him here in NC and I went to the "Deen Meet Ups" and then it was Kerry.

One County went for Dennis in North Carolina in 2012! It wasn't my county but, that was an amazing feat for Dennis to win a county in NC in 2004 Selection.

We need more of him and we are losing the good ones...and no one seems to notice in the DNC because they don't support folks like Dennis and Howard Dean (even though Howard has become a lobbyist for a cause I don't support) ...anyway... I hope to hear more from Dennis...even though Dem Party as it now stands doesn't want to listen to him...nor MY CONGRESS PERSON Brad Miller who tried his best to fight against the Wall Street Banksters who was redistricted out and DNC/Justice Departments Eric Holder DID NOTHING...against the Conservative Racists who Redistricted our State after the 2010 ALEC and Petersen Foundations supported Tea Party to drive Millions and more into corrupting the state defying the Civil Rights Legislation by infecting our schools with Arne Duncan, Michell Rhee folks, ALEC/SCAIFE/KOCH Bros...and the rest.

I am really upset about this...but I will have hope that this will show what has been going on in Politics. More WAKE UP CALLS! WHEN WILL WE LEARN to LISTEN???)

7. Neither party wants anyone who tells the truth to the people.
I think Dennis will be back in politics. He is way ahead of the times. We are truly a regressive nation, politically, right now, but the good thing is the PEOPLE are ahead of the politicians especially young people. Dennnis has lost before, but he always came back. So, I think we'll see him again, for now he's probably in need of a rest. He spent the past decade fighting Bush policies as one of the few who got it right. Time for him to take a break, rest, and return when he feels the time is right.

8. Colbert took a pot shot at thim during the health care act debacle.
I had the feeling that may not have been entirely spontaneous on the part of Colbert.

2. Unfortunate and Sad
He was one of the few who actually did his job
He is probably one of four or five who could have been a successful representative 50+ years ago
The rest are too damned lazy

3. DK never had a good campaign manager or assistant to organize Dennis
and unfortunately, Dennis leaves with really, no signature legislation as his legacy.

9. Maybe that reflects badly on those who did not help pass the bills he sponsored or co-sponsored.

He was an important voice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Den...

I don't agree with him on everything, and shake my head at some of the things he says and does. Still, I think it important that SOMEone say some of the things he says.

And, I don't recall a single time when he was deceptive to voters. If I am correct about that, that alone would qualify him to be Representative for Life, IMO.

4. I saw him at Tom Harkin's Steak Fry in Iowa in 2004.
I was there supporting Dean. But as the event was ending, I was waiting for the bus to take us back, when Dennis came walking toward the fence with a couple of entourage "suitez' in tow. The suits motioned him toward the enclosure entrance some distance away, but Dennis got a twinkle in his eye and hopped over the fence, forcing the suits to follow. I loved it. I mean, his politics were relatively OK, too; but I loved his cachet.

5. He's still fighting for us....there's a great speech of his in the House Today...
Edited on Thu May-17-12 05:35 PM by KoKo
I saw the speech on RT and NOT anywhere else. If you saw his speech on our MSM...please post.

I will post when I find. RT is on different time zone so they post videos later than we do...

He's still there until December...he still has a great voice...!

10. This saddens me, too.
I always donated to him because I wanted him to keep talking. I wanted to keep his voice alive.

Whatever he chooses to do, I wish him great success, & if in my own small way I can help him, I will.

:hi:

11. I would rather hear a Democrat say Bush and Cheney needed impeachment and fail, than
hear a Democrat say "impeachment is off the table" and succeed.
