Lady Gaga may have to cancel Indonesia concert

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- Lady Gaga might have to cancel her sold-out show in Indonesia because Islamic hard-liners and conservative lawmakers objected.

National police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said the permit was denied for the June 3 "Born This Way" concert that was to be the biggest show on her Asian tour.

<snip>

Some Islamic groups have protested the diva's provocative clothing and said her sexy show will corrupt Indonesian youths.

Her concerts in South Korea were limited to fans 18 or older because conservatives raised objections.

1. Theocrats and religious bigots are the real corrupters of youth.
And I guess Gaga could claim that she was born that way: with a meat dress. ;-)

3. "Indonesia, a nation of 240 million people, has more Muslims than any other.
Although it is secular and has a long history of religious tolerance, a small extremist fringe has become more vocal in recent years..."

Sounds familiar...

4. Remind me again of why I should tolerate these people?
The only difference I see between Muslims and Christians is that they each thump a different holy book.

Both sects are intolerant, bigoted, and batshit insane.

I hope this business with canceling Gaga's concert will piss off the young people so much, that they'll start questioning this whole "religious" bullshit that's being shoved down their throats.

7. you may not agree, but there are liberal Christians aplenty...
who are nothing like the extremists who aggravate not only you, but the rest of us, too. I love Gaga, and I hope she continues being relevant. I commend her for singing, "God makes no mistakes"... we are Born this Way!

5. Rock on Lady Gaga!
I don't even like your music, but you piss off the hardliners and that's good enough for me!
